News From Our Investments
The team Fresh Equity are delighted to bring you an update on our latest activity.
Introduction by Paul Isaacs, CEO:
“It’s been a busy, if somewhat uncertain and frustrating few months for the team at Fresh Equity Ltd.
“During the course of the last six months we have had to deal with the impact of Brexit and the triggering of Article 50 and the uncertainty caused by a snap election and the resultant hung Parliament. Uncertainty is never good for business confidence and the has been apparent in both the length of time it is taking to get deals competed and customers willingness to place orders, particularly if they are from overseas (despite the weakness of sterling giving them a price advantage). However, I am pleased to say that we are starting to see some normality returning: order books are picking up across the portfolio and we helped TFM Networks compete the acquisition of Tru Solutions, our second acquisition for them.
” I hope this newsletter will give you an insight into some of the changes we’ve been able to make in just four of our investments, positioning them strongly for future growth.
” We are hopeful that the current pipeline of deals, both on the buy and sell side, will come to fruition over the coming months, despite the inevitable impact of the summer slowdown.
“In the meantime please don’t hesitate to get in touch if there’s anything you think we might be able to help with.”
Portfolio Update – News from our Investments
TFM acquires Tru Solutions
TFM has acquired 100% of the share capital of Tru Solutions in a deal sourced by Fresh Equity Ltd.
The enlarged group has a combined turnover in excess of £12m pa. Fresh Equity also advised and assisted the TFM board on complex capital reorganisation, enabling them to buy back certain minority shareholdings.
The acquisition expands TFM’s product offering with a dedicated mobile expertise, as Tru is a Vodafone Platinum vendor.
Jim Rock, MD of Tru joins the TFM team. Stewart Yates, CEO of TFM, comments:
“Once again, Paul and the team at FEL were able to source an off market acquisition for us that not only allows us to grow the Group but also allows us to cross sell a broader range of services to both new and existing customers. At the same time they convinced us to use the opportunity to complete a complex capital reorganisation which has allowed us to streamline the capital base of the Group.”
This is TFM’s second acquisition (both acquisitions have been sourced and structured by FEL). TFM were advised by Gateleys and HTM.
